Fundraising consultancy
Do you or your team need some help with high value fundraising? Do you need additional expertise? Do you need to make a major change, or a number of efficiency gains? Or do you have a project you just don't have capacity for?

Do you have a new team member to induct? Do you need to build your fundraising skills? Or do you need a fundraising proposition pulled together?

These are the kinds of things I can help with. I am an experienced fundraiser, specialising in Trusts, Major Gifts, efficiency gains, cases for support, and proposal development.
My approach: building you up to put myself out of a job
My aim is to build the skills of you and/or your team, as well as your resources, knowledge and capacity so that you don't need me any more.
That might be by training the team on a particular part of fundraising, mentoring those members who need the most support, and attending pipeline meetings.

Or it might be taking on a project you're just not getting to, while helping you to recruit for someone to continue the work.

Those are just a couple of examples, I am equipped to tackle most projects in the High Value Fundraising space, but my approach always remains: ultimately you need permanent staff managing your fundraising to build strong relationships, so I want to put myself out of a job.
My style of interim cover: not just doing the job
Is your team low on capacity? Has someone left or is leaving and you're not going to be able to recruit straight away? I can cover a role in the interim, from as junior as a Fundraising Manager, to a Head of Team, to a Head of Fundraising role.

Where I'm covering more junior roles, I tend to combine that with improving team processes, training the team, and supporting with recruitment. Most recently, at Norwood, from February to July 2022, I covered a Trust Manager role, bringing in two grants, alongside delivering process change and team training, and successfully recruiting a new Trust Officer.
I also build tools to make life easier for the new recruit, whether that's starting a Case for Support /FAQ document, updating your CRM guide, or writing a team handbook.

My clients: not just anyone
My experience is broad, covering charities large and small, national and international:

Smaller charities: Bookmark had income of a few hundred thousand when I started. Masorti Judaism similarly. FoodCycle.

Medium charities: Norwood, Sense International.

Big charities: British Red Cross, Refuge, The Children's Society.

Areas of work include: international development, education, children, women and Jewish community.

But I'm not a jack of all trades. There are a few kinds of charities I don't work with, because I don't have the relevant expertise, so I'm not the best person to support them. They are:

-
Charities with under £100,000 annual income
-
The arts, schools, higher education, religious charities other than Jewish ones, hospitals and hospices, single issue health other than mental health.
